da sviDAniya! (Goodbye!)

We will be leaving for Kazakhstan this coming Wednesday, February 18 at 10:45 in the morning. We will arrive in Kazakhstan at about 11:20pm their time which is about 12:20pm (noonish) our time. We will be wide-awake and it will be time to go to bed.

One of our coordinators will pick us up at the airport and then take us to our hotel/apartment. Please pray for a smooth trip and check-in. We will probably be having a meeting on Friday morning with the Ministry of Education to meet them and to discuss referrals for adoption. Please pray that God would give us wisdom as we look over the different referrals and that He would make it clear which child to adopt.

Also, pray for a sweet and successful bonding period (14 days) with the child. I cannot imagine the emotion we will feel when we see the child that God prepared for us even before the foundation of the world. I cannot even picture it right now. We cannot wait to hold, kiss, play with, read to, feed our child. This will be such an incredible time. Pray that the child will gain a trust and that he/she will know that they are loved unconditionally. Pray that while we are gone, after we leave the first time, the child will know and have a peace that we will come back again!

Pray that the courts would set a date quickly so that we know if we should come home or stay in Kazakhstan until the court date. Selfishly, we would like to combine the first two trips so we would like to stay for our court date unless it will be 3-4 weeks.

Thank you for your prayer! We will try to update as much as we can in Kazakhstan.

We Love You,
Jon and Kristin
