Isaac's 7-month Birthday

Today was Isaac's 7-month birthday. He was so cute...we bought him a couple of outfits last night and we were able to dress him in one today...he was SO cute. He was a little tired and down today because he is starting to teethe, and he has a little cold...we will take care of that because we bought medicine and a teether; I'm sure he'll be very happy tomorrow.

Our 5th day out of 14 bonding days is done! We are getting closer to being able to go to court. Today, our coordinator was getting a date for court! YAY! We should be able to get a quick-court date and HOPEFULLY, we can come back on the same day that we planned...March 12 UNLESS, they will allow us to stay for a 2 weeks or so and then bring him home...we don't think this is an option, but you never know...it's up to the judge.

It's beginning to be very difficult because we want to be able to parent Isaac ourselves, and we have an coordinator always looking over our shoulder during the bonding period. It's hard because it feel like someone's always watching. We want to be patient with her when she comes up and tell us what to do with him because we knows she means good, but it's still very difficult to be patient. Some of their culture we just have to accept (smile and nod, smile and nod) because it is very different. For instance, they think that just because a baby is coughing or something, they must be cold (like freezing cold), so they tell us to put a sweater on him even though he's sweating already. If any skin is showing except for his hands, head, and neck, it must be covered up because he will catch cold (they're constantly telling us to cover his legs even though it's only like a 1-inch gap from his sock to his pants. Also, his back must be straight...do not allow the baby to slouch while it sits on the ground...7 months is too early for him to be able to sit up. They told us this directly after he sat up unassisted for 30 seconds. Just pray for patience because we want to just do what they tell us so they're not offended, but it's so hard because it's like they're telling us we're bad parents because he's showing 1-inch worth of skin on his leg.

PATIENCE, PATIENCE, PATIENCE...it's a virtue!
